Terms of Reservation

These Terms of Reservation (“Terms”) are between you and Tai O Heritage Hotel (“Hotel”) setting out how you may make Reservation (as defined below) and your responsibilities during your stay, arrangement for payment, cancellation terms, and limitation on the liability of Tai O Heritage Hotel.

 

Guests must read and agree to these Terms prior to making a Reservation.  Minor (below 18 years old) is not accepted to reserve a room on this website and please contact the Hotel directly for assistance.

 

I. Reservation

a. Booking

These terms apply to all reservations at the Hotel for accommodation or venue hire, whether made online at www.taioheritagehotel.com or made by telephone or in person (“Reservations”).

 

To maintain the integrity and service quality of our booking system, reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All reservations are subject to availability, at the discretion of the Hotel and not transferrable.  You are required to provide your credit card details  for pre-authorisation code of the room charges. The code is kept for guaranteed purpose only. The payment will be settled at front desk upon check-in.

 

For any booking for 3 nights or more; or any booking for 3 rooms or more; or any booking with special limited promotion, full payment is immediately required at the time of booking for confirmation.  No cancellation policy applies to the aforesaid bookings and no refund, booking transfer or modification is allowed.

 

At the time of making a reservation, you may make a request with respect to room location, room type, particular facility or particular view, and so forth.  While we will make every effort to accommodate your request, such requests are not guaranteed.

 

b. Charges

Rates for accommodation at the Hotel are available at https://www.taioheritagehotel.com/en/stay/packages/.

 

All quoted rates for accommodation are applicable to two adults and are quoted per room, per night. We welcome family visits.  One child aged 11 or below can stay free of charge when travelling with adults, provided that they do not require additional bedding. Additional charges will be imposed for extra bedding, breakfast and tours.  Special rates quoted cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, offer or promotion.

 

All charges incurred by you during your stay with us (“Charges”) must be settled by you, prior to your departure from the Hotel. You are deemed to have authorised the settling of all outstanding Charges which can be processed by the Hotel using any credit card details held on file.

 

c. Cancellation

If you need to cancel a Reservation for accommodation, your cancellation should be made at least 14 days in advance by contacting us or visiting our hotel website to cancel your booking by fill in your confirmation number and name to avoid any penalty.

 

A “No-show” (being a guest who fails to check-in to the Hotel on day of arrival) (“No-show”) or any cancellation of Reservation made less than 14 days in advance prior to 18:00 Hong Kong time on day of arrival is liable for cost of the full period night’s accommodation charges.

 

d. Check In and Check Out

Check-in and check-out times are 15:00 Hong Kong time and 12:00 Hong Kong time respectively. The access and vacate times for all other services will be specified in the Service Directory inside the guestroom.

 

e. Adverse Weather or Transportation Condition

With the announcement of a black rainstorm warning, the hoisting of typhoon signal No. 8, and any local adverse weather conditions in Tai O as reported by Tai O Heritage Hotel staff (typhoon signal no.3 or a red rainstorm warning) on day of arrival, guests would be allowed to postpone the reservation subject to the guestroom availability and the Hotel will send notification and reservation postponement to the affected Guests. Guests who do not receive the notification and reservation postponement should contact the Hotel.

 

Cancellation of transportation (ferry and shuttle bus service) to Tai O may occur due to  the weather conditions.  We strongly advise you to check the latest weather conditions at the Hong Kong Observatory website before departure to Tai O.

 

Tai O Heritage Hotel reserves all rights to amend, cancel, or postpone services due to weather, road conditions at its own discretion.

 

f. House Rules

Special rules may be made by us from time to time about conservation and protection of the Hotel building. To make this the most pleasant visit for you and the others, it is greatly appreciated if you can co-operate with us in conserving this unique heritage building and to observe the guidelines/rules of usage that may be issued by us from time to time.

 

g. No Pets

Tai O Heritage Hotel is a Grade II historical building, no pets or animals other than Guide Dogs are allowed in the Hotel.

 

h. Smoke-free

It is strictly forbidden to ignite or use fire including without limitation lighter, candle, incense, burner, gas stove, etc. inside the Hotel’s premises and guestrooms.  Smoking is not allowed inside the Hotel. Smoke inside the building may activate our smoke alarms and will incur a fine.

 

i. Photography and Filming

Non-commercial photography is welcomed for our building exterior. Hotel’s consent must be obtained for commercial, media, bridal pickup and wedding photography and filming. For safety reason, please avoid the use of tripods.  No drone is allowed within the Hotel’s premises.

 

j. Accessibility

Public Viewing

To encourage the community to have a taste of the renovated Tai O Heritage Hotel, formerly known as the Tai O Police Station, public areas of the Hotel, the Hotel restaurant and the Heritage Interpretation Centre are open from 11:00 to 18:00 daily for public viewing.  Guests’ privacy and comfort are always our top priority.  In addition, guided tours of the Hotel will be held from 15:00 to 16:30 daily. Guests may close the window blinds during that period for privacy’s sake. We appreciate your co-operation and apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

 

Barrier-free Access

Wheelchairs are available for loan, free of charge, at the front desk. Elevators are also available in the Hotel for your convenience.

 

All public areas of the Hotel, the Hotel restaurant, and the Heritage Interpretation Centre are wheelchair accessible.

 

II. Venue Rentals

The Hotel is a Grade II historical building that can house corporate and private functions that are deemed to be appropriate to the nature and standing of the Hotel.  The venue is located at the first floor of the Hotel, the glass-roofed restaurant “Tai O Lookout”.  For the venue rentals enquiries, you may contact us directly or by email to info@taioheritagehotel.com

 

The venue hire will be subject to the following terms:-

a. Food & Beverages

We provide a diverse selection of drinks. However, we do accommodate if you would like to bring your own drinks. We reserve the right to charge you an additional corkage fee/bottle opening fee.

 

External food is not allowed, with the exception of wedding cakes or other specialty cakes. We reserve the right to charge a cake handling fee.

c. Noise Level

We wish to provide the most serene environment for our guests. Thus, we expect minimum noises be made during events. We reserve the right to request you to keep noise levels at a minimum and you agree to co-operate with our reasonable instructions.

 

III. Legal Statutes

As required by law, we must comply with all relevant statutes and therefore we ask our guests not to act in such a way as would put us in breach of any laws and regulations. In particular, guests are reminded to maintain free access to fire exits at all times and not to interfere with or obstruct any fire equipment.

 

IV. Force Majeure

We accept no responsibility or liability where the performance or prompt performance of the service or the contract is prevented or affected by reason of “force majeure” incident beyond our reasonable control.  Force majeure incident includes without limitation blackout, fire, flood, explosion, storm or adverse weather condition, break-in, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural disaster, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic or pandemic, emergency breakdown of hotel facility or infrastructure and all similar situations beyond our reasonable control.

 

V. Amendments to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time in our sole discretion by providing you with notification.  By continuing to use our reservation services after our notification, you agree to be bound by the updated version of these Terms.
